Buffalo Architecture: An Alternative Guide is a digital platform that seeks to highlight spaces and structures in Buffalo and Western New York that have been historically overlooked or marginalized in the city’s architectural canon. The project is in the process of developing an interactive mobile app as an educational resource to the public. Centering the launch on Black architecture, a pilot version will be presented during this public workshop and exhibition.
This project is supported by Independent Projects, a grant partnership of the New York State Council on the Arts and The Architectural League of New York. This program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State legislature.
