Learning Objectives:

Describe the basics of Family-Based Therapy for adolescents and emerging adults with eating disorders.
Anticipate and address obstacles to integrating the family into treatment for adolescents and emerging adults with eating disorders.
Learn how to adapt treatment plans to accommodate varying client presentations and social contexts.
Understand how to build a robust support team for the client, including professionals and non-professionals.

About Rock Recovery: Rock Recovery is an Arlington, VA nonprofit that supports the journey to freedom from disordered eating by bridging gaps in treatment and education and removing barriers of cost, accessibility, and isolation. Our holistic and affordable eating disorder therapy services successfully help adults and adolescents of all genders by providing group meals, group psychotherapy, mentor matching, individual goal-setting meetings and optional spiritual support services. We believe that complete freedom from disordered eating is possible, and our doors are open to all who wish to partake in their journey to freedom with us.

About Equip: Equip is a virtual by design, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program that is now serving patients ages 6-24, of all gender identities, with any eating disorder, in all 50 states. We've built upon the gold-standard Family-Based Treatment with a dedicated five-person care team including a therapist, dietitian, physician, peer mentor, and family mentor. Our care is designed to be fully virtual so families can help their loved one through recovery at home.
