BRITE: Pitch & Present Series

BRITE: Pitch & Present Series

By Howard County Economic Development Authority

Overview

A hands-on 3-part series to help founders build a strong pitch deck, refine their delivery, and practice presenting for real opportunities.

If you’re a founder or small business owner, you already know how important it is to clearly communicate your business—whether to customers, partners, lenders, or investors. But turning your ideas into a compelling pitch deck and delivering it with confidence can feel overwhelming.

The BRITE Core: Pitch & Present Series is a practical 3-part workshop designed to help you build a strong pitch deck, articulate your story, and present it effectively. You’ll learn the essentials of pitch structure, refine your delivery skills, and get real practice presenting your deck—all with guidance that meets you where you are.

Sessions will be held on January 21, January 28, and February 4 from 5:30 PM–7:00 PM.

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • A structured pitch deck draft built around a proven framework
  • Better presentation and storytelling skills
  • A short verbal pitch you can confidently deliver
  • Feedback and preparation for real pitch competitions

The Three Sessions

1. Crafting Your Pitch: Building the Foundation (January 21)

Learn the purpose of a pitch deck, walk through the core framework, connect it to your business plan, and begin your first draft.

Takeaway: Draft the first version of your pitch deck using the provided framework, including 6–8 core slides.

2. From Slides to Story: Strengthening Content & Delivery (January 28)

Review attendee drafts, practice strengthening the narrative flow, and learn practical presentation and Q&A skills.

Takeaway: Refine your pitch deck and develop a 2–3 minute verbal pitch script to practice delivering.

3. Showtime: Live Pitches & Competition Readiness (February 4)

Select participants present their pitch decks, receive coaching, and learn what it takes to prepare for competitions like the MIC Lucky Pitch.

Takeaway: Finalize your pitch deck and submission-ready pitch for competitions or external presentations.
