Join us for an interdisciplinary conversation on how to effectively support the communication needs of learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). In this collaborative presentation, Sierra Weber, MA, BCBA, LBA, and Caroline Claywell, MS, CCC-SLP, will share practical, evidence-based strategies rooted in the combined perspectives of behavior analysis and speech-language pathology.
Participants will be able to:
- Define core components of augmentative and alternative communication
- Identify and dispel common misconceptions surrounding AAC
- Describe approaches and strategies to effectively implement AAC to promote communication across environments
- Collaborate effectively across disciplines to maximize learner outcomes
This session is ideal for RBTs, students studying behavior analysis, PLBAs, BCBAs, educators, and other professionals working with individuals who use or could benefit from AAC.
