About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Sex education in schools starts a conversation about sex for youth, but it often leaves more questions than answers. Youth fill in the gaps amogst each other, or they look for answers online, in which both can be problematic, and realistically, may lead to incorrect information.

Sexual health and safety go far beyond anatomy lessons and putting condoms on bananas. While school-based sex ed often scratches the surface, it’s parents and caregivers who play the most powerful role in shaping a young person’s lifelong approach to sexual wellness. This workshop offers practical guidance and non-judgmental support to help you have honest, ongoing conversations about bodies, boundaries, safety, consent, relationships, and self-esteem. You'll learn how to navigate tricky questions, respond to curiosity, and create a safe, shame-free space for your child to grow into a confident, informed, and respectful person. Together, we’ll explore how to promote healthy decision-making, build trust, and equip kids with the tools they need to stay safe while navigating different developmental phases throughout their youth and early adult life.

Robyn brings over 10 years of professional experience in this subject area, having a background in harm reduction and sexual health promotion. Through storytelling, humour, reflection and community-building, her workshops break down barriers to having sometimes uncomfortable conversations in a meaningful and informative way.
