Brian Smalley at Northwest Square
Overview
Join us for a Listening Room experience with the Brian Smalley
A one man force of nature.
The word 'virtuoso' is too easily used to describe a guitarist. There is no other word to describe Brian Smalley's skills with the guitar. Whether he's playing his own remarkable guitar arrangements on familiar tunes, or playing his own compositions, Brian Smalley is one with the instrument — a true virtuoso.
Brian is also a storyteller and a songwriter, and has written songs, an acoustic novel, and most recently released Chosen, a concept album with songs that tell the stories of people from the town of Chosen a sugar mill town near Belle Glade, Florida.
Brian's family moved around a lot as he was growing up, but he has called Florida home since 1976. He played with rock bands in Tallahassee and Winter Haven, took solo jobs in Orlando and Cocoa Beach, perfected his storytelling skills, met many other great Florida musicians, and perfected his performing style. On stage, Brian is engaging, funny, truthful, energetic, and always spot on with every note. (There are always a lot of notes.)
The historic Pearce Chapel has only a limited number of seats.
Northwest Square is the hub of the downtown DeLand historic district. The historic building houses a food hall and tap room, event spaces, shopping and retail, and 15 apartments.
