Break & Bloom: Stained Glass Course with Fernway Glass @ HQ

Curious about stained glass, learning on your own, or need some guidance? This is the place for you!

OPTIONS:

1. A foundational six-week course for beginners and creative rebuilders. Students learn every stage of the stained glass process. Starting with cutting and foiling to soldering and finishing, while exploring the symbolic act of breaking and reassembling.
2. A two-class punch card to bring in your own work for education or to dip your toes into the art of stained glass- start to finish!
3. Just dipping your toes? Try this one-class quick design to see if this medium is for you! Design will be simple and completed in 2 hours.

Schedule- One course ticket will include class on these dates:

1 Nov 7 Introduction to Stained Glass / Designing & Patterning / Glass Choice

2 Nov 14 Cutting & Grinding (Part 1)

3 Nov 21 Cutting & Grinding (Part 2)

4 Dec 5 Foiling

5 Dec 12 Soldering & Finishing

6 Dec 19 Show & Tell / Reflection / Project Sharing

Slot Times: Students choose one time slot for the entire 6-week session. Sessions are chosen through purchasing a ticket!

***Punch Card Ticket holders will choose 1-2 of those dates and attend the 1 pm session and/or the 3:30 pm session.

This workshop is designed to be inclusive and affirming, where everyone feels safe to express themselves.

We have a gravel lot in the back and ample neighborhood street space.

Please be aware that we are working with lead and other dangerous chemicals. By participating, you agree to take responsibility for any potential risks that may occur when working with lead, high-temperature soldering irons, and glass. We will be providing masks and safety tools; however, you may bring your own if you prefer.
