Weekday Afternoons & Evenings

Come on down to BRAC, as we jump into the autumn season for another semester of creative learning in a relaxed, supportive studio setting. Our 7 -10-week art sessions are designed for all skill levels and led by experienced teaching artists. Whether you're diving into clay for the first time or rekindling a love for painting, we’ve got a class for you.

✏️ Young Artists: Introduction to Sketching and Drawing – Youth | Tuesdays, 4:00 – 5:30 PM (10 Sessions)

Explore the world of drawing in this 10-week class! Students will build skills and confidence using pencils, charcoal, ink, and pastels while creating portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and imaginative compositions. The class ends with a collaborative group project, bringing creativity and expression to life.

​​⚱️ Pottery Wheel Ceramics – Adults | Tuesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM (10 Sessions)

In this wheel-throwing class, we will get centered in more ways than one. In these wild times, the pottery wheel offers a perfect escape and a way to meditate, letting you forget everything else. Students will learn the basics of wheel throwing: centering, pulling up the walls to make cylinders, shaping, and trimming. Functional forms such as mugs, bowls, vases, and pitchers will be created, and finished with glazes that match your decor or mood—completing a calming, zen pottery experience.

By the end, you’ll create a final collaborative project that celebrates your growth and creativity.

🖊️ Comic Book Design – Teens | Wednesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM (9 Sessions)
This class introduces teens to the exciting world of comic books in a fun, hands-on environment. Learn to create original characters, develop storylines, and design dynamic panels while exploring drawing techniques, lettering, and visual storytelling. By the end of the program, you’ll have your own complete comic project that showcases your creativity and imagination.

✏️ Basic Perspective for Drawing and Architecture – Teens/Adults | Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 PM (10 Sessions)

​​This 10 week class will give you a basic understanding of 1- and 2-point perspective. The goal is to provide you with a tool you can use to convey depth and dimension to your observational drawings, imaginative works, or any project that requires placing objects in deep space.

🪟 Glass Canvas: Stained Glass – Teens/Adults | Wednesdays starting October 8, 6:30 – 8:30 PM (8 Sessions)

​​Discover the art of stained glass in this hands-on class! Students will learn how to cut, assemble, and solder glass pieces to create colorful, luminous designs while exploring composition, pattern, and light. Perfect for beginners ready to craft their own glowing artworks.

🖊️ Comic Book Design – Youth | Thursdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM (9 Sessions)
This class introduces young artists to the world of comic books in a playful, supportive setting. Students will learn to invent characters, build simple storylines, and design panels while practicing basic drawing and storytelling skills. By the end of the course, each student will create their own comic adventure, celebrating their creativity and personal style.

⚱️ Handbuilding Ceramics – All Ages | Thursdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM (7 Sessions)

This class explores how different cultures use ceramics in decorative and functional objects. Students will work with a variety of handbuilding techniques—including pinch pots, slabs, and coiling—to create personalized items such as mugs, bowls, vases, figurines, and cultural pieces like Peruvian water jugs or Mexican salt and pepper shakers. Handbuilding is the oldest and most expressive form of ceramic making. Come create beautiful objects you’ll be proud to display or gift!
