What will I be doing?

Restoration activities will consist of removing buckthtorn (Rhamnus cathartica), a small invasive tree species in Cook County. Removal is performed with loppers, and the brush is tossed into a small fire called a brush burn. All PPE, tools, and equipment are provided.

You should wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed toed shoes. Long socks are a plus, and items like hats can also be beneficial. For this event, you may wear any costume that is made of cotton or other non-flammable materials.

What do I need to bring?

It is recommended to bring water, and any other items you prefer for outdoor activities (i.e. bug spray, sunglasses, etc.)
