Bookbinding: Sewn Boards Binding

Bookbinding: Sewn Boards Binding

By The Soapbox: Community Print Shop & Zine Library

Overview

Learn how to bind your own book!

About this event

The Sewn Boards Binding, developed by Gary Frost, is a modern version of one of the earliest forms of the codex. This structure has been used to rebind books as a library binding, as a limited-edition binding for new artist works, and as a simple blank book. The book opens flat and is a great structure for beginning bookbinders. Use it as a notebook or sketchbook, a gift, or a model for additional handmade books.
