This 7-week virtual book study course begining November 3rd and ending December 21st is focused on the book that was published in 2024, and updated in 2025, AI with AI: A Practical Guide To A New Era of Human Learning (Bowen and Watson).
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way we learn, work, and think. Its integration into classrooms and workplaces is already underway, impacting and challenging ideas about creativity, authorship, and education. In this groundbreaking and practical guide, teachers will discover how to harness and manage AI as a powerful teaching tool. José Antonio Bowen and C. NOTE: This course uses the social learning platform Perusall, which provides participants the opportunity to read an online copy of the book, discuss, question, and otherwise engage with the text and peers in an asynchronous online learning environment following a two-chapter-per-week schedule.
Participants read and annotate (comment on) the content from the book within the Perusall platform. Participants can engage with and collaborate with peers by asking questions and commenting on their annotations, leading to discussions of the text, their experiences related to the text, and deeper understandings. This social discussion element is what makes the “virtual book study” an interactive course that incorporates the discussion of an in-person book study while allowing participants to engage at times that work best for them.
Participants MUST purchase the electronic version of Learning with AI: The K-12 Teacher's Guide to a New Era of Human Learning text within the Perusall platform the course has interactive discussion components and follows a weekly schedule. Participants will not be able to participate and complete the course with any other version.
