Tiffany C. Kingsbury’s *The Heroic Legacy of the 6888th Battalion: How Major Charity Adams and the Six Triple Eight Overcame Racism, Misogyny, and War* tells the powerful, often overlooked story of the only all-Black, all-female battalion deployed overseas during World War II. Led by Major Charity Adams, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion faced enormous challenges—from racial and gender discrimination to the pressures of wartime logistics—but their resilience and excellence shattered barriers and ensured critical mail delivery to American troops. In this virtual book discussion, we’ll explore how these trailblazing women defied the odds and changed military history, and why their legacy still resonates today. Join us to honor their courage and examine the broader struggles for equity and recognition in American history.
