Book Arts Workshop

*This is an 8 week class for participants 60+ as a part of our Creative Aging program, sponsored by the Wyoming Arts Council.

Participants will learn a variety of print, collage, paper sculpture, and binding techniques to create 3 projects related to book arts. We will discuss what ‘book arts’ is, how it’s been used historically, culturally, and in contemporary forms, and what constitutes ‘book arts.’ Participants will create a visual journal where they will practice mixed media techniques that will be used on two additional projects: a ‘paper tunnel’ story scene, and an altered book. Each course works to build on techniques and concepts learned previously, leaving room for experimentation, planning and reflection throughout.
