Building a powerful Board of Directors is no easy task. This session will break down the basics of a high-impact board and help participants to strengthen their board-building plans. We will consider best practices for recruitment, board member onboarding, training, cultivating your board members to increase their impact, and setting expectations to avoid some of the harshest board-pitfalls.

This workshop is co-hosted by The Miami Foundation and facilitated by Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, Founder and CEO of Radical Partners.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We encourage the use of public transportation or ridesharing to get to this location as we will not be able to validate parking.

Metrorail/Metromover Take the Metrorail/Metromover to Government Center station. Exit on to NW 2nd St. and head east (toward downtown). Turn left onto NW 1st Ave. Turn right onto NW 3rd St. and you will see the building on your right
Uber/Lyft/Taxi Drop Off Be sure the driver drops you off at the entrance on NW 3rd St (the north side of the building) which has the elevators to access Suite 305

The Miami Parking Authority Building Free 1st 1/2 hour, $6 up to 1 hour, $3 each additional hour
Parking Lot at 80 NW 3rd St. $15 flat rate before 11am
Miami-Dade Cultural Center at 50 NW 2nd Ave. $3 every 1/2 hour, $14 daily maximum

How do I get to Suite 305?

To access the Foundation's 3rd floor suite, you must use the elevators on the north side of the building, facing NW 3rd St. with the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. U.S. Courthouse across the street.

What can I bring into the workshop?

No need to bring a laptop. We will provide workbooks and pens.

Because space is limited and these workshops often sell out, we want to make sure that those who want to attend can commit to holding their seat by donating a nominal non-refundable fee that will be donated to Radical Partners on Give Miami Day.
