About this event
This year’s BlueWatch Summit is dedicated to equipping law enforcement officers with the tools they need to lead with strength, serve with resilience, and thrive at home and on the job.
At BlueWatch, our mission is to support officers in building careers marked by honor—honor to themselves, their families, and the profession. The 2025 summit will center on three core themes: Leadership, Resiliency, and Family.
Attendees will hear from keynote speakers Ken Valentine and Scott Smiley – both proven leaders with powerful stories to share about their journey and sacrifice in service of our country.
Ken Valentine began his Secret Service career in 1996. In 2000 he was transferred to the Presidential Protective Division, serving under presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama. After serving as the Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Field Office and the Dignitary Protective Division, Ken retired from government service to pursue corporate security and operational risk consulting. He is the author of “Cheating Death” and “Staying Sharp”.
Blinded in a suicide bombing attack in Iraq, Smiley was the Army’s first blind active-duty officer, serving for nearly 10 years. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Duke University, taught leadership at West Point and lead the Warrior Transition Unit at West Point. Smiley is the author of “Hope Unseen,” his biography.
With a mix of impactful general sessions and focused breakout workshops, the agenda is designed to meet the needs of all attendees—regardless of rank or role. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned veteran, you’ll leave with actionable strategies and renewed purpose.
You will receive 5 hours of APOST credits by attending!
