The Ocean Tech Hub, led by the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, is a federally designated innovation center focused on advancing ocean technology. It brings together a consortium of public, private, and academic partners to develop and commercialize cutting-edge technologies in undersea robotics, sensors, and advanced materials, aiming to position the region as a global leader in the blue economy. Leveraging the area's unique coastal assets—including seven commercial ports and access to both shallow and deep ocean waters—the Hub provides entrepreneurs and businesses with access to state-of-the-art testing facilities, co-working spaces, and fabrication labs. Its initiatives also encompass workforce development programs and strategic partnerships designed to foster economic growth and environmental sustainability in the maritime sector.
