Blue Highway Fest is a multi-day music festival October 8-12, 2025 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, celebrating the best in bluegrass and Americana music. The International Bluegrass Music Association voted Blue Highway Fest as the bluegrass event of the year in 2023.
Set against the stunning Appalachian Mountains, the festival features world-class artists, jam sessions, local food, in-town events, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. With on-site camping and a strong community vibe, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience for music lovers of all ages.

Blue Highway Fest will have Ticket Sales available at the main gates. There will be separate lines for “Same Day” purchasers. Both cash and credit cards are accepted at the gate.
Although we cannot predict the weather, temperatures in Southwest Virginia in October usually range from the mid to upper 60’s during the day to mid to upper 40’s at night. Dress accordingly and be sure to bring a coat or jacket to the evening shows.
Sorry, golf carts will not be allowed inside the event area.
Handicap drop off will be available at the East Gate of Bullitt Park. However, there is no parking inside the park. Everything inside the park is accessible at ground level with the exception of the bleacher seating.
Tickets will be for sale online. Once you arrive at the festival, you will be required to show proof of purchase and will be given a wrist band depending on ticket purchase type.
Yes, as long as you have your wristband and proof of purchase/ID with you.
There is parking located throughout Downtown Big Stone Gap in public lots and on street parking. Parking is on a first come first serve basis. There will be shuttle pick up and drop off locations to and from the event.
There will be a designated tent area selling merchandise, memorabilia, and souvenirs during the event.
Yes, there are both brick and mortar as well as a designated portable restrooms in the event areas.
Yes. Folding/Camping style chairs, stadium seat pads, and blankets are all good choices.
Bikes are not permitted within the event site.
EMS will be available and on standby during event hours.

With the exception of the adjacent playground to Bullitt Park, there are no other planned children events for this festival.
All vendors setting up for the festival should be able to process a credit or debit card.
There will not be an ATM on site but there are several ATM locations in Downtown Big Stone Gap.
Yes, children 12 and under are admitted free with an accompanying adult ticket holder.
No structures that could impair the view of the main stage are allowed.
Yes. However, they must be shutoff by 11PM EST and not interfere with other campers.
