This Too Shall Pass:

Blacksmithing Skulls with Michael Dillon

Saturday, October 25- 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Participants are in for a truly unique experience as they learn to sculpt red-hot iron using fire, hammer, and anvil. This hands-on, high-energy class will introduce fundamental blacksmithing techniques along with the tools essential to the craft. Working both individually and with a striker, students will transform raw iron into symbolic skulls—creating powerful sculptural pieces and forging experiences they won’t soon forget.

Michael Dillon is a highly accomplished local artist who shapes metal in all its forms, driven by both passion and profession. Best known for his architectural-scale work, Dillon blends design, functionality, and sculptural intent to define his aesthetic. His skulls embody these same principles and serve as personal memento mori—reminders that, no matter how dire the circumstances, everything is relative, and this too shall pass.
