Black Philosophy Book Talk: In the Wake by Christina Sharpe
Overview
We invite you to an engaging and thought-provoking Black Philosophy Book Talk facilitated by Dr. Justin Yuille, Executive Director of The Re-Humanizing Project. This free community event centers on a discussion of In the Wake: On Blackness and Being—a powerful work examining Black life, memory, and existence in the afterlives of slavery.
Together, we will reflect on themes of Blackness, care, history, and being through a participatory, culturally sustaining lens. Dr. Yuille’s facilitation is rooted in community engagement, shared governance, and education as a tool for justice and equity.
This is an open, welcoming space for scholars, creatives, students, and community members at all levels of familiarity with the text.
