What is BLACK FILM: UNSEEN & UNSTREAMED?

Due to a grant from EBCF, Oakstopp, and SWFCenter4sj, this is the kick-off screening for a series that reoccurs every other Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Location is Oakstop, unless an activity indicates otherwise. Curators are Raw Shaw, Cornelius Moore, & Cheryl Fabio.

What is JINN about?

Summer is a carefree Black girl whose world is turned upside down when her mother converts to Islam and becomes different. At first resistant to the faith, Summer begins to reevaluate her identity after becoming attracted to a Muslim classmate, crossing the thin line between physical desire & piety.

What is NOOR about?

A Black woman develops a deep connection to an Arab man who works in her neighborhood bodega in the midst of an unexpected tragedy. Based on the award-winning feature script, Noor.
