About this event

  • Free venue parking

The King's Point Theatre Project is constantly developing new and exciting scripts to bring to scenic Green Bay. Whether it's drama like Turncoat Hill, musicals like The Far End Of Summer, immersive theatre like Patchwork, or the continuing misadventures of Chad Penney, we give extensive development time to make sure our plays are ready for the stage!

And this is your sneak peek at what's to come!

Bits & Bites runs at the By The Sea Inn & Cafe on August 6 at 11am. Come enjoy a delicious brunch and hear readings from our professional actors. Some of the scripts you'll hear from are:

  • Springheel Jack: A supernatural tale that spans from London, England to St. John's, Catalina, Fleur de Lys and King's Point. Written by Rory Lambert with dramaturgy by Nicole Rousseau. Slated for summer 2027.
  • Oh! What A Lovely Racket: A new musical production centred around local raconteur Skipper Joe Tucker. Slated for summer 2026.
  • Dead Club by Tom Halford, presented in co-production with Hard Ticket Theatre of Corner Brook.

What's on the menu?

Well, you'll enjoy a phenomenal brunch of quiche, bacon, hash browns, fruit salad with tea or coffee, while you take in the readings and the beautiful view of the bay.

And all for just $20!

Frequently asked questions

Are these full plays? With lights and costumes and everything?

Well, a stage reading isn't a full play. It's usually an excerpt from a script, that gives you an idea of the story and the tone of the play that's being developed. And while the actors won't have a set or lights, they will most likely be wearing costume pieces that reflect their characters.

So what's the draw, then?

This is an opportunity for us to reach out to you in the community. To sit with you, break bread with you, let you have a listen and get your input on what we're dreaming up. The plays we produce are your stories, and they should reflect this great place we call home. And the great people in it!
