Workshop on my new book, Bitcoin Hands-On

WHO AM I?

Hi, I’m Sylvia Vasilik. I'm a database consultant who's written some popular technical workbooks.

After learning about Bitcoin, I noticed a big gap in the information available. There’s lots of theory, but no hands-on, practical information. That's why I wrote this book.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to know much about Bitcoin? No, you just need to be curious and willing to try it out.

How technical is it? Not very. I'll touch on some of the theory/history of Bitcoin, but just a little. We’ll mostly be working through the exercises in the book. You’ll need basic computer literacy (how to install software, etc) but it’s a hands-on workshop, and I’ll help with problems.

Do I need to buy some bitcoin? To do the exercises, you'll have to buy a small amount of bitcoin. I suggest $25 to $50. This is your bitcoin, to keep. When you RSVP, I'll give you suggestions on safe places to buy bitcoin.

Do I have to buy the book? No - it’s available on Amazon, but I will also send you a link to a PDF of the book when you RSVP.

Is this financial or tax advice? No, I'm not a financial or tax advisor. None of what I say should be considered investment, legal, or tax advice. Do your own research, consult qualified professionals, and follow local laws and regulations.

How much does this workshop cost? There’s no charge, I just want to spread the word about my book.

What should I do to prepare? I will send you additional info when you email to RSVP.
