Join Indiana Audubon and Conner Prairie on Saturday, Oct. 25, for an accessible and inclusive Big Sit at Conner Prairie during Birdability Week!

Witness birds and connect with other birders through stationary birding, or take a guided bird outing along the flat paved Prairie Trail. Drop-in at any time between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Eastern Time to enjoy birds, explore resources, play bird-themed trivia games, and more. Meet at the Prairie Trail trailhead, located using this Google Pin.

Accessibility

Birdability Week is an annual celebration dedicated to birders with disabilities and other health concerns. It serves as an opportunity to share resources and ideas, fostering an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming birding community. Visit connerprairie.org/plan-your-visit to find a campus map.

Registration

This event, presented in collaboration with Conner Prairie, is free and open to birders and nature enthusiasts of all ages, abilities, and interest levels. Some binoculars will be available to borrow; feel free to bring your own.

Indiana Audubon Field Trip Ratings for This Trip

  • Birding Pace: Fun and Relaxed.
  • Physical Requirements: Easy. Birding along short, flat surfaces a few hundred feet with accessible birding access.
  • Birding Skill Level: Beginner to mid-level. Extended looks at both common and uncommon species will be available to study identification and for photography.
