Bird Walk at Montauk Point
By Montauk Library
Overview
Take a winter walk with the Montauk Library Bird Club, led by Ed Johann of Third House Nature Center.
We’ll observe and learn to identify a variety of species that winter at Montauk Point, with a focus on seabirds, including gannets, scoters, and loons, found gliding on ocean breezes or floating on waves offshore.
This is also a great opportunity to see seals!
The walk will be a slow-paced hike along the shoreline and paved roads. Parking is free. Dress for cold weather. All experience levels are welcome. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.
**Registration is required. Meeting location will be sent to registrants.**
