Dr. Clarkson will help us identify birds by sight and sound and talk about the birds that nest and migrate through Miantonomi Memorial Park.

We will be meeting at the main kiosk near the picnic tables off Hillside Avenue. Binoculars are encouraged to bring for birding, but are not required.

Charles Clarkson is the Director of Avian Research for the Audubon Society of RI and served as the coordinator for the RI Bird Atlas, a five-year, statewide project aimed at documenting the distribution and abundance of our birds. Dr. Clarkson has a PhD from the University of Virginia, was a former Board member of Aquidneck Island Land Trust, and is co-chair of the Conservation Committee for the International Waterbird Society.
