About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

This fall, join expert birder, conservationist, Master Gardener and Wilton resident Joe Bear in search of birds making a stopover at Allen’s Meadow in Wilton on their way south to their winter homes. We’ll explore a variety of habitats including open fields, woodland edges, community gardens, and the new native pollinator meadow. Fall sightings in recent years have included bobolinks, dickcissels, numerous warbler species, a variety of flycatchers, a wide range of sparrows, bald eagles, and other raptors. And who knows what unexpected migrant might put in an appearance!

Joe Bear has been birding for over 30 years, having led both domestic and international trips for CT Audubon and other nature-based organizations. Joe enjoys sharing his passion and enthusiasm for birds and believes that experienced or novice, there's always something new to learn every time we pick up our bins.

Bring your binoculars!

Meet on the west side of the playing fields.

Park in front of the Field 6 sign.

Registration required. Participation is limited to 12 per date.
