BIPOC Birding Event
Overview
Welcome to Errol Heights Park!
Errol Heights is a 16-acre park in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, which reopened in 2024 with improved trails and extended paths for better accessibility. This park connects to Johnson Creek and hosts a variety of animals. The new design allows people to access the site, without disturbing the wildlife. On a given day, you can find great blue herons, barred owls, Cooper's hawks, and downy woodpeckers (there is a feral peackcock population in the neighborhood). Other non-bird species that can be found in the park are beavers, river otters, and deer.
Meeting Location
There are several entrances to the park, and we will meet near the Community Gardens.
Transportation
There is off-street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. You can also take public transportation with bus routes 75 and 34, dropping off near the intersection of SE Harney Drive and SE 45th Ave.
Lunch
As always, if there is interest, we will head to a place for lunch afterwards. The location will be announced at the event.
