BioPitch Business Pitch Competition
Event Information
Description
The Hopkins Biotech Network, Carey Business School, and FastForward U invite you to apply to our second annual BioPitch business pitch competition.
What is BioPitch?
A feedback-driven business pitch competition for biotech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical device start up teams to present a 3-minute elevator pitch followed by 7-10 min of Q&A to receive constructive insights from knowledgeable professionals. Judges will score the pitch presentations and award $1000 to the winning team to help make your business idea a reality.
Selected teams will work with a professional entrepreneurship coach for 3 weeks leading up to the event in order to refine and improve their pitch. On the day of the competition, teams will present to a panel of venture capital, social venture, startup, and biotech experts and receive feedback on their presentation. Finally, we have invited professionals from around the Baltimore and D.C. community representing organizations like FedTech, TEDCO, and Early Charm to network with teams following the competition to make lasting connections that will catapult your startup.
Team Requirements:
Teams should comprise 2 to 6 members and are ideally idea-stage startups with a healthcare and biotech focus. Strong preference will be given to diverse teams. The competition is open to PhD, MD, Masters, MBA, undergraduate, and postdoctoral fellows – currently enrolled or alumni – from all Johns Hopkins affiliated schools.
Event Details:
Applications are open from February 14th to March 6th 2020, at 12:00 pm. Selected teams will be notified by March 9th. Please submit one application per team.
