Biomorphic Wall Construction with Lea Anderson
Overview
In this inspiring mixed-media workshop, participating artists will create their own unique biomorphic wall piece using a variety of exciting mediums such as collage, paperclay, watercolor, pigmented drawing media, and found natural objects. Each participant will come away with a finished work of art while investigating themes of symbolic community and visual harmony. All experience levels welcome, al materials provided.
Age / Skill Level:
Teens (15-19) and adults (20 and up). Suitable for beginners, practicing artists, and
Educators.
Schedule:
Saturday February 28th : 9am-4pm
Sunday March 1st : 9am-4pm
*There will be a scheduled break halfway through the session
Materials (what to bring):
A $35 materials fee is also required to attend the class. You will bring $35 cash or check to the instructor on the first day of the workshop.
About the Teaching Artist:
Lea Anderson, a mixed media and installation artist, has lived and worked in New Mexico since 2003 and has discovered much during her adventures in the dramatic, colorful, and wild desert environment. Anderson has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally. She received her MFA from UNM and is currently a Full-Time Art Studio Faculty at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). She has also led dozens of workshops and short-term classes for Harwood using a wide variety of mixed media techniques. She is collaborating on projects with Meow Wolf and Electric Playhouse in New Mexico in 2022
