BIOLOGIST SWAMP WALK in the FAKAHATCHEE PRESERVE

Join us for an exciting adventure through the Fakahatchee Preserve with our knowledgeable biologists! Explore the unique ecosystem of the swamp and learn about the diverse plant and animal species that call it home. This in-person event is a great opportunity to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving our natural habitats.

Come prepared to get wet and experience the beauty of the swamp up close and personal. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to explore one of Florida's most fascinating preserve within the southwest everglades ecosystem.

Participants will follow the Biologist in their own vehicles to the swamp walk location six miles into the Preserve. This is a long swamp walk into the heart of the Fakahatchee Preserve that can be strenuous at times. Participants wade in cool water for up to two hours or longer.

This swamp walk requires participants to be flexible with their time, the swamp walk will not be cut short for participants who make plans to leave precisely at 1:30PM.

Swamp walkers are required to wear long pants and lace-up boots or sneakers – no sandals, waders or open-top boots. A hat and long-sleeved shirt are also recommended. Bring water and snacks, there is no lunch break.

You can change to dry clothes at the Park’s restrooms.

Participants will receive arrival instructions via e-mail the day before the tour.

Participants will meet at 9:00 AM at the Visitor Center on the corner of Janes Scenic Drive and Coastline Drive, Copeland (not Naples).

CAUTION: The ONLY access to Janes Scenic Drive is Via Route 29 between I-75 and US 41. DO NOT rely on GPS or Google Map info which will show other routes that have been closed. If driving I-75 take Exit 80.
