NL: “BioBlitz in het Leopoldpark” is een opvolging van hoe de biodiversiteit is veranderd – en hopelijk toegenomen – in een park in hartje Brussel sinds de herbegroeiing van de vijver en de aanleg van een bloemenweide in 2015. Na een korte inleiding over bemonsteringstechnieken en insectenecologie worden 20 burgers uitgenodigd om insecten te observeren of te verzamelen aan de oever van de vijver, in de weide en op andere plaatsen in het park. Dit participatieve evenement is bedoeld om burgers bewust te maken van biodiversiteit in de stad.

FR: Le « BioBlitz dans le parc Léopold » est un suivi de la façon dont la biodiversité a changé – et, espérons-le, augmenté – dans un parc situé au cœur de Bruxelles, depuis la revégétalisation de l’étang et la mise en place d’une prairie fleurie en 2015. Après une courte introduction sur les techniques d’échantillonnage et l’écologie des insectes, 20 citoyens sont invités à observer ou à collecter des insectes sur les berges de l’étang, dans la prairie et dans d’autres endroits du parc. Cet événement participatif vise à sensibiliser les citoyens à la biodiversité dans la ville.

EN: “BioBlitz in Leopold Park” is a follow-up of how biodiversity has changed –and hopefully increased– in a park located in the heart of Brussels, since the revegetation of the pond and set up of a flowery meadow in 2015. After a short introduction on sampling techniques and insect ecology, 20 citizens are invited to observe or collect insects at the bank of the pond, in the meadow, and in other locations of the park. This participatory event aims at raising citizens awareness about biodiversity in the city.
