Join us at the CELLS BioMakerSpace lab for a 2-day hands-on workshop where science becomes art. Paint with living microorganisms and real lab tools, and create two one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments to take home.

What You Will Make:

Two Unique Custom-Made Ornaments:

• Agar Art Ornament: You will "paint" designs in petri dishes using brightly colored microorganisms, let them grow, than bio-print your design to seal it in your ornament
• Micropipetting Art Ornament: You will use precision micropipettes to deposit pixel-droplets for your picture then transfer it to your ornament

What You Will Learn (2-Day Format):

Day 1

• Learn how to cultivate microorganisms

• Design and paint your agar art
• Incubate your creations so they can grow

Day 2

• Bio-print your agar art onto a canvas and seal it in an ornament
• Learn micropipetting techniques to create pixel-style art
• Transfer and finish your second ornament
