Intermediate Arranging

6 classes running from November 5 to December 10
Live portions of the class are Mondays at 8:30 pm Central

Once you've mastered the basics, Arranging 2 will broaden your understanding and take you from arranger dabbler to proficient. Classroom discussions and live arranging will deepen your understanding of harmony / circle of fifths, voice leading, sensible development, and devices that improve an arrangement's momentum.

*this course is intended for students who have completed Beginning Arranging or who have equivalent experience

**students will be asked to obtain music notation software (no purchase necessary)

***Each weekly meeting (Mondays at 8:30pm CST) is recorded and can be watched as a video for any students that miss a meeting during the running of this course

Determining Which Arranging Course to Take

With which group do you identify?

• Beginning Arranging: I can read music, but have no or little barbershop arranging experience.

• Intermediate Arranging: I have dabbled in arranging, but I need to fill in a few knowledge gaps particularly with the barbershop style.

• Advanced Arranging: I have arranged a few barbershop songs already, but am ready to take my arrangements to the next level.
