Beyond The Sparkle: From Adornment To Asset at NYC Jewelry Week 2025
Overview
Jewelry shines as a form of self-expression, but can it also shine as an investment? Join us as we explore how to think about jewelry as a potential asset—what to look for when buying and how to navigate market dynamics. We’ll delve into the factors that influence value—materials, provenance, craftsmanship, and brand—alongside the realities of resale, liquidity, and risk. Whether you’re a collector, designer, or enthusiast, join us as we go beyond our love of jewelry to consider what it means to turn sparkle into strategy.
Neil Lane
Neil Lane’s lifelong passion for jewelry, art, and design began in Brooklyn, inspired by color and creativity. After college, he moved to Paris, developing expertise in vintage jewelry and curating a renowned collection of historic pieces. Settling in Los Angeles, he gained acclaim as both designer and collector, known in Hollywood for his distinctive red-carpet and engagement ring designs, and his work on ABC’s The Bachelor. His collection, spanning the 19th–20th centuries, includes masterpieces by Belperron, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and others, many with remarkable provenance. Lane partnered with DeBeers LVMH to launch the Hollywood Diamond Collection, reintroduced vintage diamond cuts, and engaged globally as a diamond ambassador. His exhibition Radiance and Reverie at the Toledo Museum of Art showcases over 150 iconic jewels, accompanied by a Rizzoli Electa catalogue.

Her jewelry was sold at all the leading department stores, worn by A-List celebrities such as Rihanna and Blake Lively and was featured in the likes of Vogue. She has created collections using sustainable materials and upcycled fabrics, while also partnering with NGOs. However, she grew disenchanted with the rise of fast fashion and the lack of diversity in the jewelry industry. So was born ‘The Jewelry Edit', a multi-brand e-commerce jewelry boutique carrying over 80 different designers, and the non-profit Jewelry Edit Foundation, both driven by a mission of social responsibility and diversity. Prior to her roles in fashion, Rosena practiced corporate law for almost a decade at leading law firms in New Zealand and New York.
