"Beyond The Seams"
Overview
Beyond The Seams follows the story of Crescent Consulting Group, Inc. and its apparel manufacturing division, SWH Apparel—an African American woman–owned company rooted in Atlanta—tracing how legacy skills, Southern labor traditions, and modern precision manufacturing converge inside a U.S.-based factory. Against the backdrop of a region shaped by both industrial decline and cultural resilience, the film explores what it means to own the means of production today, examining craftsmanship, workforce development, and data-driven innovation as acts of economic self-determination. Through the hands that cut, sew, and lead, Stitched in the South reveals how Black women are rebuilding American manufacturing—one garment, one job, and one legacy at a time.
