Technology is changing rapidly - and while it opens up incredible opportunities, it also brings new risks. From social media to gaming platforms, the digital world can be hard to keep up with, especially when it comes to keeping kids safe.

Whether you're a parent, caregiver, teacher, or just someone who cares about young people - this is a conversation worth having!

Hosted by the team at Stronger Waitaki and led by Jo Robertson, this session will provide insight into the digital world that young people navigate today, identifying potential risks and practical strategies for addressing them.

Topics include exposure to harmful content, online exploitation, popular apps, and how the NZ response compares internationally. Grounded in evidence and guided by expertise, this workshop will equip you with effective approaches to prevent and respond to online harm. Jo is a seasoned therapist, has done a TEDx talk, is an advocate regularly engaging with global tech companies, and has an online parenting course Tricky Chats Parenting.
