Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have a Family Tree?

Whether you have one or not, we will learn about how to create, grow or prune your Family Tree. If you do have one, please bring it as is and prepare questions about which Ancestors you're interested to learn more about.

Is it Mandatory for me to have an Ancestry.com or Family Search account?

This session highlights access to the Ancestry.com Library Edition for FREE records access. If you have an account for one or both, that's Great! This session also shares information about both sites, and the benefits of their online tree-building tools.

Is this session just for African Ancestored folks?

We partner with Public Libraries to ensure access for all. Exploring African American genealogy opens a portal to world history, showing how your story connects to the broader human journey. These sessions extend research across continents, countries, and communities.
