Beyond the Binary: Healing the Wound of Separation

What if the real divide between men and women was not natural - but inherited?

What if the misunderstanding, mistrust, and pain so many of us carry in relation to the “opposite” gender is not a fixed truth, but a story we have been told - and a wound we are capable of healing?

Beyond the Binary is a sacred, in-person gathering that opens the door to that healing.

This 2.5-hour experience is a gentle but powerful first step in restoring connection between the masculine and feminine, in ourselves and with each other. Hosted at Self Place in Sunrise, Florida, this event invites you to step outside of judgment, resistance, performance, and cultural division - and into something more ancient, more true: honoring, witnessing, listening, and sacred presence.

Why This Event? Why Now?

We live in a time of profound confusion around gender, identity, and relationship. Centuries of social conditioning, trauma, and imbalance have created division between the masculine and feminine - and within every one of us.

• Men have been told to be hard, silent, stoic.
• Women have been told to be soft, accommodating, quiet.
• Both have been hurt. Both have been misunderstood. Both are longing to be seen.
  
  

At the same time, many are awakening to deeper truths: that healing is possible, that wholeness begins within, and that we must move beyond binary thinking to create true peace in ourselves, our relationships, and our communities.

This event was created to hold space for that healing to begin - not through debate or performance, but through intentional, heart-centered presence.

She Speaks | He Listens. He Speaks | She Listens.

This simple phrase is at the heart of our gathering. It is a practice. A prayer. A Mantra. A promise.

In this space, we practice what is so often missing in our culture: the ability to truly witness one another - without interruption, defense, judgment, or dismissal.

You are not expected to fix anyone. You are invited to be real, to listen, and to remember.

What You will Experience in This 2.5-Hour Gathering:

• Guided Grounding + Opening Meditation Arrive into your body and breath. Let the outside world fall away.
• Gender Affinity Circles (Men + Women) Meet in separate spaces to reflect on what you have carried, what you have inherited, and what you are ready to release.
• Sacred Witnessing Circle Return together in silence and respect. Listen as the other speaks. Share when it is your turn. No feedback. No fixing. Just truth and presence.
• Closing Ritual + Reflection We end with a short integration practice and a collective meditative prayer for inner and outer peace.

Fitz-Gerald Cushnie Spiritual Guide | Founder of Self Place & Sacred Self Sanctuary Fitz-Gerald is a sacred space holder, meditation and self-discovery guide, and intuitive healer devoted to helping others awaken, integrate, and return to inner truth. He brings divine energy, warmth, clarity, and spiritual depth to every circle he facilitates.

+ Female Co-Facilitator (TBA) To embody the principle of sacred balance, Fitz-Gerald will be joined by a female co-facilitator who will guide alongside him, holding space for the feminine voice and energy within the circle.
