About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Europe's accelerating offshore wind expansion demands coordinated, cross-border maritime spatial planning (MSP) that balances nature protection and restoration with the energy transition needs. Science shows that a sea-basin approach enables efficient grid development and wind energy deployment while optimizing marine space use.

Join Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) and Seas At Risk in Nice, France, against the backdrop of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) to dive into this exciting and timely topic. The event will convene policymakers, industry, NGOs, and scientific experts to develop solutions for sustainable offshore wind expansion that safeguards our seas. We’ll also examine best practices in cross-border MSP and how to implement ecosystem-based approaches in renewable energy planning.
