Beyond Behavior Plans: Supporting the Whole Child through Psychological Flexibility and Trauma-Informed ABA in School Settings
This 2.5 CEU event explores how BCBAs can integrate psychological flexibility and trauma-informed practices to better support students beyond traditional behavior plans. Emphasizing whole-child care, it offers practical strategies for enhancing resilience, autonomy, and meaningful engagement within school-based ABA services.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify and describe at least three core components of psychological flexibility and how they relate to trauma-informed practices in school-based ABA settings
Participants will learn to assess and modify behavior intervention plans to better support students’ emotional regulation, safety, and autonomy through trauma-informed, whole-child approaches
Participants will demonstrate the ability to integrate strategies rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) to promote psychological flexibility within individualized educational and behavioral goals.
