Join us for an important brunch overlooking the beauty of Lake Merritt in Oakland, where we will introduce more people to the transformative work of Positive Communication Practices (PCP) and build the network of support that will allow this vital organization to thrive.
The event will feature a lively and meaningful agenda with the founders of Positive Communication Practices, community leaders, and—most importantly—some of the young men themselves who have been part of this journey. Their stories of growth and resilience will bring to life the impact of the organization’s signature program, Rites of Passage (ROP).
ROP works with youth in juvenile facilities—98% of them young men of color—through an intensive 14–16 week program of weekly group sessions. Using rituals, traditions, and practices, ROP helps strip away destructive habits and mindsets while fostering accountability, character, and a renewed sense of self.
The difference lies in lasting relationships. Through reentry case management and life coaching, ROP extends vital support that connects young men back to their families and communities, creating the infrastructure they need for long-term transformation. To date, ROP has run 21 cohorts in the Greater San Francisco Area, and with your support, Positive Communication Practices is ready to reach even more youth who deserve a second chance.
Come be part of an afternoon of inspiration, connection, and hope—and help us expand this life-changing work.
