Event description
Bethesda Project and Keystone First invite you to participate in the Community Action Poverty Simulation.

About this Event

As part of Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week (HHAW), Bethesda Project and Keystone First invite you to walk a mile in the shoes of those experiencing poverty by participating in the Community Action Poverty Simulation.

The Poverty Simulation is an exercise designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family, trying to survive from month to month. The goal is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by people living below the poverty line, as well as:

  • Break down stereotypes and misconceptions.
  • Cultivate community connection and responsibility.
  • Generate action toward change.

Parking options are very limited. Participants are encouraged to use public transportation. For a list of nearby parking garages – please visit: Trinity Philadelphia

Note to participants: Please make sure to arrive on time. Given the content of the event, no food or beverages will be available during the simulation.
