Description

The Project SEARCH Transition-to-Work Program is a unique, business-led, one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through a series of targeted non-paid internships.

Join us to learn about the program and to have your questions answered.

8:30am Check-in

9:00am - 10:00am Program

Note: This Information Session is for Support Coordinator Agency Staff. All others are invited to register for an upcoming Public Information Session.

Project SEARCH is focused on building a person’s confidence and readiness for the workplace through intensive pre-employment activities.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to find meaningful and sustainable employment.

Project SEARCH interns have the opportunity to:

- Obtain valuable work experience through internships in a real-life work environment

- Receive individualized support on job exploration, resume building, and interviewing

- Develop the social, employability, and marketable job skills to purse any job

The Project SEARCH Unique Approach:

- Total workplace immersion that develops transferrable skills
- Strong focus on soft skills
- Program partner collaboration and level of ongoing support (workforce, business, education, vocational rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, and long-term supported employment)

The Adult Project SEARCH Program serves:

  • young adults,
  • ages 18 to 30,
  • who have a documented disability, and
  • have exited the school system or special education program (exhausted educational entitlements; beyond high school eligibility)

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

The most important criterion for acceptance into Project SEARCH is a desire to achieve competitive employment (at least 16 hours per week) at the end of the program. The ideal candidate does not need sustained 1:1 job coaching and can reduce dependency on support as specific tasks are learned.
