The Bender Robotics Preliminary Design Review (PDR) marks the next major milestone in the team’s journey toward NASA’s Lunabotics Challenge. During this review, student engineers will present their current design progress, share multiple design options under consideration, and discuss the direction chosen for further development.
Attendees will get a first look at how the team’s subsystems are coming together (Navigation, Regolith Handling, Drivetrain, and Chassis) and how each supports the mission goals for autonomous lunar excavation. The team will also outline their testing strategy and plans leading up to the Critical Design Review (CDR) later in the season.
This event offers attendees the chance to:
- Explore the robot’s evolving design concepts and trade studies
- Hear from students about design decisions, challenges, and lessons learned
- Provide valuable feedback before the team moves into full prototyping
- Support Boise State’s next generation of innovators and engineers
Whether you’re a faculty reviewer, student, sponsor, or community supporter, your insight helps shape the success of this year’s mission.
