Belonging to the Future: A Just Transition Conversation
🗓️ Sunday, August 17th, 12:30 PM
Join us virtually or in-person at
📍Brooklyn Ethical | 269 4th Avenue @ Garfield Pl, Brooklyn, NY
What does it mean to belong to the future?
Join us for a thoughtful, participatory conversation centered on Movement Generation’s Just Transition framework. We’ll explore how individuals and communities can work toward a more just, resilient, and life-affirming society—without burning out or doing it alone.
This is not a lecture, but a dialogue. In a circle-style format, we’ll share space and ideas about shifting from systems of extraction to ones rooted in care, cooperation, and community power.
About the Host:
Rebecca Lurie is a longtime member of Brooklyn Ethical, a professor at CUNY’s School of Labor and Urban Studies, and a leader in the movement for a solidarity economy. Her work focuses on building cooperative businesses and deepening genuine community engagement.
All are welcome. Come as you are, and bring your hopes for what the future could be.
