About this event

Fashion • Other

Tackle fast fashion together through individual actions to make a collective impact. Get the latest on what the industry is doing and explore options that suit your style for real change. We've pulled together a list of resources for brick-and-mortar options, website and app buying and selling, and how to advocate for real change right here at home.

BRING your clothes to swap to this class so they are ready to sort BEFORE the swap starts the following Saturday. This would help us out greatly. See the Swap event itself for instructions.

Classes will build upon each other but can also be attended individually, leading up to the event that is open to all - regardless if folks attended the classes.

Behind the Seams: The Hidden Co$t of Fast Fashion series:

Wed: Oct 15th - Getting Real with Your Clothes

Wed: Oct 22nd - Unraveling Fast Fashion: Human and Environmental Toll

Wed: Oct 29th - Threads of Change

Sat: Nov 1st - Clothing Swap and Mending Event!

It is not necessary to show tickets at the time of the event. This is a way to make sure we have enough seats and materials for all who want to attend, and to communicate with those interested.

This class is offered simultaneously in-person and on Zoom. Separate registration through Zoom is needed to get the Join link. This class will not be recorded. For more information or to register for the Zoom link, please go to www.piercecountywa.gov/earthmattersseries.

This workshop is one part of a Fast Fashion series - to view the entire series and Clothing Swap event, go to the link above. This series is taught by staff of Pierce County's Solid Waste Division and Office of Resilience and Climate Action.
