Overview

An upcoming exhibit opening with Photographer and Author Jack Montgomery

We are delighted to present a stunning exhibit, Behind the Lens, featuring the photography of Jack Montgomery, who for more than two decades has documented the lives and stories of Maine Holocaust survivors. The exhibit opening and conversation will take place on November 18th at 5:00. Jack’s portraits capture moments of delight, revealing glimpses of the humanity and resilience of those who endured such unimaginable loss but survived—and rebuilt their lives in Maine with family, meaningful work and close friendships. These ‘out-takes’ from the more formal portraits on display in the Michael Klahr Center are a celebration of our founders. Drawn from Jack’s original proof sheets, the images capture moments of trust, reflection, laughter, and connection. We invite you to join us for this special evening. Please register so we can accommodate all who wish to attend.
