Overview
What did it mean to behave badly in the past? How have ideas about bad behaviour changed - join us to find out
What do we mean by ‘bad behaviour’ and how has this changed over the centuries? Journey with us over the centuries from the years of the Roman Empire to the Georgian period to analyse how personal misconduct has been perceived and judged across different historical periods. We will be exploring how ideas of morality, virtue, and vice have evolved over time. Using case studies of infamous historical figures and their transgressions we will examine bad behaviour and how it was viewed at the time. What can we learn by comparing historical bad behaviour and contemporary issues around ethics and social conduct?
