About this Event
Wondering when to prune your garden plants and where to cut? This general pruning class will cover the basics of pruning for perennials, shrubs, and small garden trees. You'll learn the best times to prune for our San Francisco climate, as well as the proper tools to use for each type of cut.
Instructor Carey Craddock is a horticulturalist who has been gardening and teaching it to others in San Francisco since 1997. She runs her own business, Carey Craddock Gardens. Carey will go over everything you need to know about pruning your garden plants to improve their appearance and health and will show you examples throughout GFE.

NOTE: Your well-being while at GFE at this time is of paramount concern. Due to COVID19 guidelines mandated by the city of San Francisco and the state of California, all participants are required to wear a mask and bring their own gloves (not supplied by GFE), and maintain a six-foot physical distance from all other participants, including course instructors and GFE staff. You will be asked to complete a health self-assessment and sign a liability waiver upon arrival. If you are unwilling or unable to adhere to the above guidelines, or develop COVID19 symptoms on or before the day of the workshop (fever, chills, repeated shaking / shivering, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, feeling unusually weak or fatigued, new loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, headache, runny or congested nose, or diarrhea), please do not sign up, or cancel your registration if needed. GFE reserves the right to deny class participation if any of the above guidelines are not followed.
The class is limited to eight registrants to comply with San Francisco's Health Directive overseeing Small Outdoor Gatherings, which restricts such gatherings to 12 people (for this event, this is eight students, two teachers, and two GFE staff).
