About this event

Community • Other

There are so many unspoken rules to the world of behavior. Something as simple as not maintaining eye contact, yelling in a public setting, or not using verbal communication, is seen as rude and disrespectful. Together we are going to unpack how behavior should be viewed, in the perspective of a person with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Together we we unpack harmful stereotypes and learn new ways of thinking. Through this we can learn the best place to start, and support those with IDD around us.

Note from the speaker: Hello everyone! My name is Sebastian Lumsden. I'm a Lead Employment Consultant at Supported Solution. Our job is to get employment for folks with IDD. I am also a person with disabilities! I speak from my own experiences, as well as share stories from others. I hope to see you there, and together we can make the world a bit of a brighter place.
